We promised you the results of our Composting Toilet - best thing ever or no way too stinky - opinion poll. And here they are:
It was of no surprise to us that most of you were in favour of having a portable composting toilet in your van over a chemical one. Your biggest problems with a composting toilet were also expected:
6% too big
17% too difficult to empty
20% too stinky
35% too expensive
The good news? We’ve got your back.
Too big:
We get it - space is precious in your van, boat or tinyhome. We’re working on a super-compact model so anyone with a porta potty can swap it out for a compo closet!
Too difficult to empty:
We know that current composting toilets are difficult to empty, cause we have one! we’re adding LED pee level gauge to avoid that warm feeling you get when your pee bucket overflows on your leg at 3 am cause you forgot to empty it. me and the pain in the ass.
YAY!
Bonus we’re adding LED pee level gauge to avoid that warm feeling you get when your pee bucket overflows on your leg at 3am cause you forgot to empty it.
Too stinky:
We’re adding a second fan - One always blows outside through carbon filter and the second one lightly blows on the poop when not in use to help aid the composting process, but reverses when the hole is opened to avoid smells, it also has a carbon filter!
Too expensive:
A whopping 35% of you think the biggest problem with a composting toilet is how expensive it is.
We’re will be cheaper than the leading composting toilet.
I think a special mention should go out to the 1% who think they are too ugly…
What is it that you guys want?
Pink?
Sparkles?
Or perhaps like us you just want it to look more like a normal toilet and less like the unwanted lovechild of R2D2 and a Vacuum Cleaner?
We’re openminded, let us know!
